In Basic Battle, you can explore and battle monsters in an ancient world filled with strange magic and powerful combatants.
To get started, launch the game and choose one of three character professions to begin your journey. While traveling, you will be able to use all five senses to learn about the unique places, people, and creatures you encounter. You can speak with the locals you meet, and perhaps pick up a quest or two. At any time during your travels, you can call out "Battle!" and you will be challenged to combat by the nearest foe.
Once you've ventured out of your home Village, you will learn that there are few easy fights. Learn the nuances of your and your opponents' attacks by asking things like "What does frost do?"
Make sure to buy potions at the Item Shop, or you may not be able to make it through a tough fight. Just say "buy two potions" or "sell a potion" and the local merchant will help you out.
After battle, seek out the nearest area with a healer and say "Heal Me!" to be restored to full health.
If you want to learn about your own abilities, say things like "check health", "check attributes", or "check items".
If you're in battle, you can ask about your enemy's stats, too! Just say things like "check enemy stats" to get an edge on your foe.
Once you've reached a location, you can get back instantly by saying things like "travel to Village".
Curious about the other professions you could have chosen? Say "new game" to create a new character with a different profession. Don't worry, you can always go back to your previous characters by saying "switch game"!
Keep an eye out for the new "mask" equipment. Putting on a mask allows you to change your appearance and the sound of your attacks, and any of your characters can use them once you pick them up for the first time!
Basic Battle is a voice-first experience, but also fully supports screen devices such as the Echo Show with art by Liam Savage!
