You can try out the Boat Beacon skill without having the Boat Beacon app and will receive information from our test boat Sarita sailing in the English Channel.
Ask: “Alexa, ask Boat Beacon position” Response: “Sarita, is travelling North East at 6 Knots in the English channel currently 5 miles south west of Plymouth”
Ask: “Alexa, ask Boat Beacon my exact position” Response: “Sarita, Latitude 52 degrees 1 minute North, Longitude 1 degree 52 minutes West, travelling North East at 6 Knots ”
To access your own boat's information with this skill you will need the Boat Beacon app ( http://boatbeaconapp.com ) on your iPhone or Android device in sailing mode and register your Boat Beacon ID ( BBSI) with the Boat Beacon Alexa skill, Your BBSI is at the bottom of the My Boat Details settings in the Boat Beacon app. Please register the number without the leading BB. "Alexa ask Boat Beacon to register [BBSI number]".
