Count It invites you to play a simple game of meditation and mindfulness, immersing you in waves of chilled electronic soundscapes inspired by the music of Hans Zimmer, Vangelis and more. For best results, shut out all distractions, sit or lie comfortably, and either close your eyes as you play or light a candle and focus on the flame. In these most stressful of times, let Count It help you relax and unwind with tranquil music and sounds.
Your task begins simply enough: count how many times a particular sound is heard in a relaxing, programmatically-generated soundscape. There will be other sounds, but Alexa will tell you which you need to pick out. But there are further challenges - with each soundscape, an increase in difficulty, in frequency of target sound and variety of pitch. Count It will keep track of your score for self-improvement, and you can always start again from any level you've reached before. The game couldn't be simpler to play - say "start game" to begin, and give you answers just be saying a number. (Hint: "zero" is a valid answer, but "pass" or "I don't know" is not!)
There are no online leaderboards, no competitive multiplayer, no elaborate scoring system - it's just you, the zen-like music and sound effects, and a sweet moment of mindfulness.
Count It has been created by a programmer and long-time electronic music composer keen to combine the two arts. You can stay up to date with announcements of new sounds, music and levels as they're added to the game at facebook.com/speakfreelygames. Praise, suggestions and bug reports are all equally welcome and valued!
