"Crate Digs has been set up by myself, Jay Sebastian. “Who the hell is that?” I hear your minds inner voice utter. Well, I’m a part time fantasist DJ. I’ve been collecting records on and off since the late 90’s and I’d like to think I’ve developed an ear for some good dance tunes. By day - I’m a design consultant. I would never profess to be an expert outside of that sphere. Music for me will always be a hobby. However through music I often make some interesting discoveries, meet great people and end up in amazing places. For a few years now I’ve DJ’d in clubs, bars and online radio. Whilst this has been great - and a good look into the industry and how things really go down... my work and other commitments mean that music really does flex around my routine. So I thought... “Ah ha. A podcast. Record a radio show. Do it when you can and actually spend more time planning it”. Seems logical. More ideas have been born out of this and those will be explored as hopefully the idea continues. So for now, this year I intend to release some monthly podcasts mixing digital and vinyl together. Both markets have equal play (I think) in forging the trends and sounds that I like, and hopefully you do too. In addition, I figure that I write a blog alongside the music and document the journey. For me, telling a story musically is what it’s about, I want to accompany that with a bit of captured media and thoughts.. maybe pick some track highlights."
