This skill is provided by East Devon District Council and provides access to a range of council services.

Using the skill residents can:

Ask about recycling thousands of household items and which bin an item should go in
Check their next bin day, including changes during holidays
Report a missed bin
Ask for new bins or recycling containers
Find out details of nearby recycling centres
Ask for information about the green waste and bulky collection schemes
Find out about nearby planning applications
Get details of your local councillors
Ask about Council Tax amounts and the banding of your property
Get contact details for the council

In order to provide information about your property, the skill requires access to your device's registered address.

If you have problems with Alexa recognising your address:

Make sure you have your full address setup within your Alexa App.

Go into the Alexa app and select Settings > Device Settings > Echo Dot (or equivalent dependent on your device) > Location > and enter your full East Devon residential address. For example:

1 High Street - as the Street Address
Honiton - as the Town/City
EX14 1PR - as the Postcode.

The Alexa App might suggest an address based on what you enter - if it does please select it. If you still experience any problems, please visit www.eastdevon.gov.uk/alexa for further help.
