Using the invocation name "My Home", this skill provides an extended control and request model in comparison to the "KNX HomeServer Smart" skill to control KNX-based lighting, HVAC and other KNX devices. A custom logic module provides the central linking role with Amazon and must be installed on the Gira HomeServer (GiraHS) for connection and configuration. The configuration is done via a JSON-File directly on the GiraHS. In this file, the voice controllable KNX devices and their KNX communications objects (KOs, supporting both GiraHS internal and external KOs) are set up, together with the names to address them in Alexa voice commands.
To connect devices that are not natively supported by Alexa or to generate status reports there is a selection of further logic modules included with this skill. Also, each Alexa device can be associated with a specific room name to shorten the voice commands for this room.
The Smart-Home-Skill "KNX HomeServer Smart" can be used in parallel with this skill if/where simplified commands without invocaton name are preferred.
Examples of possible speech commands: (depending on the installed KNX devices) • Alexa, tell My Home, that you are positioned in the living room (after this command it is no longer required to include the location in voice commands if the commands relate to "living room") • Alexa, tell My Home to set the wall light in the living room to red • Alexa, tell My Home to set the wall light in the living room to warm white • Alexa, tell My Home to set the colour temperature of the wall light in the living room warmer • Alexa, tell My Home to switch on the ceiling light in the living room • Alexa, tell My Home to lower the blinds in the living room • Alexa, tell My Home to stop the blinds in the living room • Alexa, tell My Home to move the blinds in the living room to 60 percent • Alexa, ask My Home what is the setpoint temperature in the living room • Alexa, tell My Home to lock the door in the living room • ...
