LG ThinQ works with Amazon Echo and other Alexa-enabled devices to allow remote, hands-free control of your LG ThinQ appliances and AI TV. There's no need to be in front of the appliance to check its status, simply ask Alexa to do it.
LG ThinQ - Basic' supports Wi-Fi enabled Air Conditioner, Air Purifier and smart TV (2018/2019/2020 LG ThinQ AI TV only) in the United Kingdom and smart TV (2019/2020 LG ThinQ AI TV only) in the Ireland. (Note: The Set Up TV for Amazon Alexa app works with webOS 4.0 (2018 webOS TV) and the Link to Devices for Voice Control works with webOS 4.5 operating system (2019 webOS TV), Link to Smart Speaker in Home Dashboard works with webOS 5.0 (2020 webOS TV) only. To check operating system version, go to Settings > General > About This TV > TV Information)
[Getting Started] (Note: The account created from the www.lg.com/uk website does not link with LG ThinQ app nor Alexa Set Up app from the TV. Please create a LG Account from the LG ThinQ mobile app or the Account Management app from LG TV.)
To set up your LG appliances for 'LG ThinQ - Basic' skill, 1. Make sure you have registered your appliances in LG ThinQ mobile app. (Note: You can download the app in Google Play or Apple App Store.) 2. Open Amazon Alexa app and enable 'LG ThinQ - Basic' skill. 3. Sign in with LG account. 4. When Alexa and LG ThinQ are successfully linked, press the "Discover Devices" button or say "Alexa, discover my devices" to complete the process.
To set up your LG TV for 'LG ThinQ - Basic' skill, 1. For webOS 4.0, launch the "Set Up TV for Amazon Alexa" app from the Home screen on your LG TV. For webOS 4.5, launch the "Link to Devices for Voice Control" menu from Settings > Connection on your LG TV. For webOS 5.0, launch the "Home Dashboard" feature from the Home screen and go to Settings > Link to Smart Speaker on your LG TV. Or if you have the LG ThinQ mobile app, you can search your webOS 5.0 TV through the app. (Note : To check operating system version, go to Settings > General > About This TV > TV Information) 2. Follow the instruction to sign in to LG account or Amazon account and select the name of your TV. 3. Go to Alexa App on your mobile phone to enable 'LG ThinQ - Basic' skill and link accounts. 4. Return to your TV to complete setup.

Once you enable the skill, you can check the status or control the following appliances and TV with your voice: - Air Conditioner: Check Current Temperature, Turn On/Off, Set Temperature, Set Mode - Air Purifier: Turn On/Off - TV: Turn On/Off, Control Volume, Mute On/Off, Change Channel, Switch Input, Control Video Playback
[Voice Commands] (Note: You can give the nickname to your TV (i.e. living room TV, bedroom TV) in the “Set Up TV for Amazon Alexa” app(webOS 4.0) or the “Link to Devices for Voice Control“ connection settings menu(webOS 4.5) or the "Home Dashboard" app(webOS5.0) on your TV.)
For example, try the following after you say "Alexa": - Air Conditioner "what’s the temperature of my air conditioner" "turn on/off the air conditioner" "set air conditioner to 19 degrees" "set air conditioner to cool mode" - Air Purifier "turn on/off the air purifier" - TV "turn on/off TV” "turn up/down the volume on TV" "mute/unmute TV" "change channel to 101 on TV" (speak with the channel number) "switch input to HDMI1 on TV” "play/pause/stop on TV”
