Welcome to LichfieldLive, home to all things Cathedral city since January 2009.
The site – originally known as The Lichfield Blog – has gone through a rollercoaster of a ride but we’re now settled into our corner of the internet.
The site is not a vehicle to make money for anyone (no-one has ever taken a payment from the site) and any revenue we generate goes into covering costs such as hosting as well as investing in equipment to support the work our contributors do. We also won’t take advertising from companies and organisations who don’t have a local link. So please, if you enjoy reading the site, do try to support our advertisers if you possibly can.
On the subject of contributors, we are absolutely indebted to them for their support over the years (and in the future too!) – but we’re always looking out for more people to get involved, so make sure you get in touch if you have something to say or if you think your community group or organisations deserves to be heard about. It doesn’t matter if writing isn’t your thing – we’ll work with you to get the best coverage possible.
Right from the very beginning, the site has been about providing a service for people across Lichfield and Burntwood. As a result we don’t always subscribe to the idea that it’s all about news – there’s also a focus on providing interesting and informative content.
We’ve got plenty of plans going forward to improve the site and help empower the wider community to join in the fun we’re having – so keep your eyes peeled to see what we’re up to next.
In the meantime, jump on board, have a look around and comment – but please, no kicking, scratching or hair-pulling!
