The Nuvola skill links compatible "Works with Alexa" smart speakers with the Alexa ecosystem to allow Alexa enabled devices, such as an Echo or Echo Dot, to control your smart speaker. This allows you to use applicable Alexa commands to control your speaker, including streaming music to it.
Please note: this skill is only applicable to smart speakers with compatible hardware and software. Please check the instructions and documentation supplied with your smart speaker to ensure that it will work with Nuvola. You can see a full list of supported speakers at www.frontier-nuvola.net.
You give your Nuvola compatible smart speaker a name to identify it, for example 'Kitchen', if your speaker is in the kitchen. You can then control your speaker by voice - e.g. you can say:
"Alexa, play B.B.C. Radio 1 on Kitchen."
or
"Alexa, turn up the volume on kitchen."
To get started:
You will need to link your smart speaker with your Amazon account, using the control App for your speakers (e.g. UNDOK), downloadable from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
1) Open the settings area in the control App and choose "My Frontier Nuvola Account". Create a Nuvola Account or sign-in with Facebook or Google.
2) Choose "Add device", and select your smart speaker.
You now need to give Alexa access to your speaker - using this skill.
3) Enable this skill. Part of the enabling process involves logging into your Nuvola account again to link it with your Amazon account
4) Say "Alexa, discover my devices".
You're now ready to start controlling your smart speaker with Alexa!
Note that we do not currently support controlling multi-room or requesting Spotify tracks and playlists via voice. However, you can always control system functions such as volume, play, pause, skip next and previous, and switch input to supported sources.
