NVIDIA SHIELD TV is a powerful 4K HDR streaming media player, GeForce® gaming machine, and smart home hub. With the Alexa skill, you can now use an Amazon Echo device to control your SHIELD TV using just your voice.
GETTING STARTED 1. In your SHIELD TV settings, add a SHIELD account (Settings > Accounts > Add Account > SHIELD). To log in, use your existing NVIDIA credentials or create a new account. Note: This account is different from the Google account used to log in to SHIELD. 2. Make sure your SHIELD TV is up to date with the latest software (Settings > About > Check for upgrades). 3. On the Google Play Store app on your SHIELD TV, make sure the “SHIELD TV – Alexa skill” app is up to date (Google Play Store app > My apps > update all apps) 4. Select the “Enable” button to complete the setup and link your SHIELD TV. Note: You will be asked to log in using the same NVIDIA credentials from Step 1.
When talking to Alexa, refer to your SHIELD TV by the device name. You can view or change the device name by going to Settings > About > Device name on your SHIELD TV. The default name is “SHIELD”. Note: If you are changing the name of a device that has already been paired, you may need to run device discovery on Alexa to update the name in your Alexa App.
