This skill is meant for the Philips SAPHI Smart TV. To use this skill, you need to first set up the Alexa client service on your TV. Start the setup by launching the "Amazon Alexa" app from the Home screen of your TV. Follow the instructions and complete the following steps: - Create an Amazon account if you don't have one. - Select a name for your Philips Smart TV for Alexa to recognize it. - Register your Philips Smart TV on the Amazon server using code-based linking. - Enable this skill on a mobile device, link accounts, and discover your devices. - Return to your TV to complete setup.
1. SUPPORTED MODELS Philips SAPHI Smart TV models that support this feature will have the "Amazon Alexa" client app on the Home screen. If the selected models are bundled with a TV remote control that has an Alexa activation button, make sure your TV is paired with the remote control. Your TV must also be connected to the Internet. If the app is not on the Home screen, your TV may not be supporting this feature.
2. TV NAME Use the TV name to tell Alexa which device to control. Pick a unique name for every TV you set up. For example: "TV", "Living Room TV," "Media Room TV" etc.
3. VOICE CONTROL You can trigger Alexa by pressing the Alexa activation button on the TV remote (selected models only). You will need to use the TV's name when you want to control your TV with Alexa, e.g. "volume up on TV," "next channel on Living room TV," etc. The first time you ask Alexa to control your Philips Smart TV using the TV name, Alexa will assume any applicable commands should control the same TV for a period of time. If you want to move away from controlling your TV, here are a few of the many things that you can ask Alexa to do. "What's the weather today?" "Play a song" "Read my audiobook" "Show my to-do list" "Set a 5-minute timer" "How big is the Earth?" "What's in the news?" "What did I miss?"
You can use the following Amazon Alexa voice commands to control your Smart TV:
SWITCH TV ON/OFF "Turn on Living Room TV." (see note below) "Turn off TV."
NOTE: Switching TV On will work only if the Alexa Switch on setting is enabled in the TV via the preferred settings in the "Amazon Alexa" app from Home.
CHANGE CHANNEL "Next channel on TV." "Change channel to 5 on TV." "Channel down on Living Room TV."
CHANGE VOLUME "Set volume to 15 on Living Room TV." "Decrease volume." "Volume up."
MUTE OR UNMUTE TV "Mute Living Room TV." "Unmute."
CHANGE INPUT SOURCE "Switch input to Blu-ray on Living Room TV" "Switch input to HDMI 1 on Living Room TV"
CONTROL PLAYBACK "Play on TV." "Pause TV." "Fast forward." "Rewind." CONTROL AMBILIGHT (see note below): "Turn on Ambilight." "Turn on Ambilight Follow color." "Turn on Ambilight Follow video." "Turn on Ambilight Follow audio." "Turn on Ambilight Lounge light." "Turn on Ambilight Follow flag."
"Turn on Ambilight on Living Room TV" "Turn on Ambilight Follow video on Living Room TV"
Note: The supported Ambilight styles may depend on specific TV models. Please refer the user manual of your TV to know the supported Ambilight styles.
This is an example sequence of a possible conversation with Alexa: You say "Turn on TV." Alexa says "Okay" and the TV powers ON. You say "Change channel to 5." Alexa says "Okay" and the TV tunes to channel 5. You say "Turn up the volume." Alexa says "Okay" and the TV volume goes up. You say "Play Beat It." Alexa says "Okay" and plays Beat It on the TV.
