The Sound Box skill has been primarily created to help physically-disabled enjoy local Cape Town-based radio stations. The skill is one of the services we've developed as part of our VoQoL (VOice-based Quality-Of-Life) project to improve the independence of physically disabled people. Radio is a great companion for many disabled people and the ability to request your favourite station at any time is a great benefit. Sound Box lets VoQoL system recipients ask for their favourite local Cape Town radio station using station numbers instead of names, which makes the selection of these stations easier for those who have difficulty in speaking or strong South African accents (which means Alexa sometime doesn't understand).
So now you can request Fine Music Radio by asking for station 1 (e.g. say "Alexa, ask Sound Box to play 1"), or CCFM by asking for station 2, or Smile 904 by asking for station 3. As we get permission from additional South African radio stations, we'll add more options to Sound Box
But the Sound Box skill is also for anyone wanting to listen to these popular Cape Town radio stations, wherever you have an Amazon Echo or Alexa system nearby!
