This skill is a basic check of the integrity of your external speakers or headphones, when connected to your Echo device via a cable or Bluetooth or indeed, if you are using two Echo devices in order to achieve stereo. The first test is a simple channel identification, a conformation that the left and right speakers have the correct polarity. i.e. ‘The left speaker is fed by the left channel and the right speaker is fed by the right channel. you will hear a simple audio identification to this effect. This should be a formality, but it's possible that a wired connection my be inverted. The second test is a lateral check of your system. You will hear the stereo image move from the left to the right side. This will guide you as to the best place to position your speakers in your room for the best sound separation
