All the latest UK and Ireland horse racing results, search by date, racecourse or race time. You can quickly find out which courses are running, the number of races at each course along with the start times. You can specify a particular race.
The easiest way to start is to say 'Alexa, open track info' which will start a dialogue with the service. Now you can say a date, such as today, yesterday or even something like the 10th May to get which courses have races for that day. This day will be remembered to give context to your next questions unless you ask for them to be cleared and you can start again. You can go back and forth changing the date, course or race time to get new results.
You can then select a course just by saying its name and you will get the race times for your selected day and course. If you now say one of the times you will get details for that race. If the race has finished you will get the result otherwise you get the field of runners with their race position along with the jockey and the odds.
You don't have to say these in that order you may know that York is racing today so after the welcome message just say "York" to get the race times. Or even, say a race time and Alexa will try to find the nearest race with that time. Time requests are quite forgiving, so if you ask for the 2 o'clock but the race starts at ten past two then you should still get what you wanted.
Once you've heard enough information, you can barge in with a new request. For example whilst Alexa is reading out the races for York you can say "Alexa, Ascot" and you will get details for the new racecourse, assuming it is running on that date. This works with the dates and times too. Some of the races have a lot of runners so the responses can be quite long. Its useful information but you might not want to wait until the end - so don't. Just barge in with a new request.
If there is enough information for a specific race then you will get the race result if it has finished otherwise you get the field of runners.
As you would expect, you can ask direct questions rather than run through the dialogue. Here are some examples.
"Alexa, ask track info what won the two thirty at Ascot for today" "Alexa, ask track info find race times at York" "Alexa, ask track info what's running today" "Alexa, ask track info a list of courses running" "Alexa, ask track info find races for Epsom for yesterday" "Alexa, ask Track Info for help"
Since these are specific requests Alexa will let you know if the details aren't correct. As before, you can barge in with new dates, courses or times during the responses by saying, for example, "Alexa tomorrow" and the previous query will be run for tomorrow.
Loads of ideas to try to improve the service but it's much more useful to get your feedback to better understand what works and what doesn't. Happy racing !!
