Use Train Aid to find the status of any train on the National Rail Network. Simply say 'Alexa ask Train Aid if the nine thirty four pm from Hitchin is on time' and Train Aid will reply with 'On Time' if the train is on time, an ETA if the train is delayed or 'no train found' if it couldn't find your train in the National Rail System. Please be aware that the National Rail api only returns trains within 2 hours.
If you take the same train regularly, for example on your commute then you can save this to Train Aid to make your life easier. If you say 'Alexa ask train aid to set my commute to the seven eleven from Hitchin' and your commute will be stored.
You can then get Alexa to check your commute with the phrase 'Alexa ask Train Aid to check my commute'.
To see what you have currently set as your commute you can use the phrase 'Alexa ask Train Aid to get my commute'.
