Getting Started
1. To add the Vera Skill to Alexa go to the Alexa mobile app. Under Skills, search for “Vera Control”, Select “Vera Control” and tap “ENABLE”. 2. You will be prompted to sign in to the Vera Portal to link your Vera account to Alexa. 3. Next select the devices you’d like Alexa to control. You can even enter custom names for each device (e.g. Maria’s lamp, kitchen door, upstairs thermostat, etc.). a. Please Note: On the Discover Your Devices screen, be sure to avoid using any special characters such as underscore _ when customizing the device names. 4. Finally, tap “done” and then tap “DISCOVER DEVICES” or ask Alexa to “Discover Devices”. This can take up to 20 seconds.

*Please Note: For added security, lock functionality only includes locking, or checking the status of a lock. You cannot currently unlock door locks via the Vera Skill for Alexa.

SOFTWARE UPDATE REQUIREMENT: Your Vera Smart Home Controller requires the latest version of software to support Alexa. Please ensure you are running the latest version (Settings > Firmware), before enabling the Vera Control skill.
