Play Battle at Sea against a real opponent in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia or India! Alexa acts as a mediator and helps you find an opponent, place ships, coordinate rounds, and determine who won the game. Alexa also keeps the status of your game after the session ends.
The ships are placed on a 10 x 10 grid. The fleet consists of five ships: an aircraft carrier (5 cells), battleship (4 cells), cruiser (3 cells), destroyer (2 cells) and a submarine (1 cell). For ship placement, give its starting row (1-10) and column (1-10) followed by a direction (up, down, left, or right). For a submarine, just provide a row and column. The ships can't overlap, but can be adjacent to each other.
After you have positioned your fleet on a grid, Alexa matches you with an opponent. Each player takes a turn by firing at a row and column on an opponent's grid (e.g. five one). Alexa will announce if it was a hit, miss, or if you sunk the opponent's ship. Once one of the player's entire fleet has been sunk, you win or lose the game, and can start a new game!
If your opponent has been idle for some time and/or you prefer to quit, you have an option to play against a different opponent with the same or different ship placement.
