For 87+ years, Bengalis all over India tune into Mahisasura Mardini - a radio program in the voice of the legendary, Birendra Krishna Bhadra on the day of Mahalaya. This chant is sung in praise of the Goddess during Durga Puja and has been an age old tradition. This Mahalaya in 2020, BIG FM, while keeping the tradition alive, recreated the classic as BIG Mahalaya in the voice of Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta, a Bengali Musician and exponent of Rabindra Sangeet. BIG Mahalaya is an attempt to not change the old traditions but instead to bring forward a positive change in the society.
