Want to check your camera feed without being anchored to your smartphone? No Problem! You can effortlessly monitor your Blink video security system using voice command with the Blink SmartHome Skill.
To view activity from your Blink camera, say: “Alexa, show me [camera name]” Use this command to start streaming a camera live from your supported screened Alexa device. Simply say, “Alexa, hide [camera name]”, to stop and return to your supported screened Alexa device home screen:
To see your most recent video clip from Blink on your supported screened Alexa device, say: “Alexa, show me the last activity from the [camera name]”
To arm/disarm your Blink system, say: “Alexa, ask Blink to arm [system name]” "Alexa, ask Blink to disarm [system name], my pin is ####"
To learn when the latest motion clip was recorded, say: “Alexa, ask Blink when was my last motion alert?”
To learn how many unread and read motion clips you have, you can say: “Alexa, ask Blink how many motion clips do I have?”
To check your scheduled arming/disarming, say: "Alexa, ask Blink what's my schedule?"
To check your current Blink system status, say: “Alexa, ask Blink what is my status?"
Motion Announcements is an audible notification feature for select paired Echo devices triggered by your supported Blink cameras (XT2 and Mini). As soon as motion event is triggered, Alexa will announce "Motion detected at [camera name]." A quick toggle enables Motion Announcements under your paired camera settings in the Alexa app.
Routine Trigger allows you to set recurring actions of your choice for Alexa to automatically perform. To create a Routine trigger, tap the curtain menu and select "Routines" to customize your experience! For example, when supported Blink cameras detect motion, Alexa can turn on smart lighting inside or outside the house, deterring potential intruders!
Alexa will remind you when your Blink camera batteries are running low, and can help set up smart reorders to proactively have batteries in hand when you need them.
