BluOS Voice Control

BluOS is a premium multi-room audio technology that lets you manage all your music and stream it to any enabled stereo system or speakers, and now it works seamlessly with Alexa. Download the skill and you can tell Alexa to play popular songs from subscribed services like Amazon Music, Tidal and Deezer, or quickly pause what’s playing with a single voice command.

Supported music services include Amazon, Deezer, Napster, Qobuz, Radio Paradise, Tidal, and TuneIn if programmed and selected as a preset.

To get started, go to https://www.bluos.net/voice-skills to read our Alexa Skill Guide and follow the six quick-and-easy steps to active the skill in the Amazon Alexa app:

1. Plug in your Bluesound Player and download the BluOS Controller app to connect the Player to your Wi-Fi. Download the most current version of BluOS if prompted.

2. Download and launch the Amazon Alexa app. Follow the directions in the Alexa app to set up your Alexa-enabled device, i.e. the Echo or Echo Dot.

3. In the Amazon Alexa app, search the skill library for BluOS and activate the voice skill.

4. With the skill added inside the Alexa app, launch the BluOS Controller app and open the left navigation drawer, select Music Services and select Amazon Alexa.

5. Set the Player name (this will change your Player name in BluOS as well) and then Login to your Amazon account.

6. You can now choose your default Player and set the room name by saying, “Alexa, ask Blue Voice to set the default Player to the [room name]”.

Here are some examples of what you can say with Alexa:

“Alexa, ask Blue Voice to play Radio Paradise”
“Alexa, ask Blue Voice to play popular songs on Tidal in the Living Room.”
“Alexa, ask Blue Voice to play my favourites on Deezer.”
“Alexa, ask Blue Voice to play my morning playlist.”
“Alexa, ask Blue Voice to group the Kitchen and the Bedroom together.”
“Alexa, ask Blue Voice to play my music on Amazon.”
“Alexa, ask Blue Voice to turn it up in the Kitchen.”
“Alexa, ask Blue Voice to play Radio Paradise.”
“Alexa, ask Blue Voice what's playing in the Kitchen.”

Please note that the BluOS Voice Control skill is available with English language support for Australia, Canada, India, UK and the USA, and requires the latest BluOS app.
