I am a stopwatch with basic features including: start, stop, pause, resume, and reset.
These functions, like clicking a stopwatch, are intuitive and can be expressed in one or more words. For example, these all mean the same thing:
Start the clock. Start clock. Start.
Stop the clock. Stop clock. Stop.
You can also ask for either the status or the time. When you ask for the status, you may get a response like: 4 hours, 51 minutes, 32 seconds and running. But when you ask for the time, you will hear only the brief 4-51-32.
Compare the following 3 forms of accomplishing the same task.
In long-form:
Alexa, ask Click Watch to start the clock. Alexa, ask Click Watch what the status is. Alexa, ask Click Watch what the time is. Alexa, ask Click Watch to stop the clock.
In standard form:
Alexa, run Click Watch. Start the clock. What's the status? What's the time? Stop the clock.
In short-form:
Alexa, run Click Watch. Start. Status. Time. Stop.
Finally, here are a few thing to try:
Alexa, ask Click Watch to start. Alexa, ask Click Watch to pause the clock. Alexa, ask Click Watch to resume. Alexa, ask Click Watch for the time. Alexa, ask Click Watch what the status is. Alexa, ask Click Watch for help. Alexa, ask Click Watch for help with stopping the clock.
The microphone remains open as you continue to interact with the clock. To end your session immediately, say cancel, quit, or exit. Your session may also be terminated due to extended inactivity.
Please note that all Amazon Echo devices are different and may vary in response to single-word commands. Sometimes Alexa just gets in the way. If a single-word command does not behave as expected on your device, please use a longer form.
