Conquering Diseases is the name given to a research project that hopes to discover the keys to better health in our community. The Conquering Diseases Program is a partnership between community members, the patients being cared for by the health professionals of UMass Memorial and the research community. The Conquering Diseases Program consists of a Clinical Research Volunteer Registry and a Bio repository which are available to researchers, patients and community members alike. The ultimate goal of Conquering Diseases is to gain a better understanding of the diseases our patients suffer from, how to prevent, and better treat these afflictions. The Conquering Diseases programs are supported by the National Center for Advancing Transnational Sciences, National Institutes of Health. The purpose of the Conquering Diseases skill is to help patients and caregivers connect with study teams for the research studies at UMass Medical School that are looking for participants. Through this skill patients can learn about any specific clinical research that is enrolling participants at UMass Medical School. After hearing about the studies, patients can ask for a SMS link that directs them to the study information page on the Conquering Diseases website. If patient have questions and want to speak with the study team, he/she can send their contact information to the study team through the skill by saying send my information.
