This skill features the cover songs by the Canadian Country Music Singer, Ray Seguin. Each song contains a story that you may optionally listen to before the song is played. That story, along with the song title is displayed in the Alexa app home cards and on devices such as the Echo Show and Echo Spot.
The songs are categorized by the letters of the alphabet A thru Z. Say 'Catalog' for instructions, or Say "Catalog F" to hear a list of songs that start with the letter F. You can also say "Show me the songs with letter C", or "Show me the songs that begin with letter A" or just say the first letter of the song after the catalog instructions.
Alexa will announce the list of titles to songs that are in her catalog. Each title will contain a number from 1 to n.
Hint: Say the wake word and your selection while Alexa is speaking if you don't want to wait to hear a long list of titles and you already know which title you wish to hear.
To listen to only the song, just say the word "SONG" followed by the number in the list of songs.
To listen to a STORY about the song followed by the playing of that song, just say the word "STORY" followed by the number in the list of songs. The stories are told from Ray Seguins perspective and generally come from posts he has made on his Facebook Group, Home Studio Recordings. You may purchase additional CD content for the skill by contacting Ray Seguin at countrystranger735@gmail.com.
To add a song to your playlist after hearing the list of songs, say "Add song number [n] to my playlist" or say "Add Playlist" to add all of the selections.
To listen to your playlist, say "play my playlist".
To shuffle your playlist, say "shuffle my playlist".
Say "Catalog" to return to the main catalog where you can select another list of songs by their first letter.
Say loop on to allow repeating of the songs after they have finished. Say loop off to turn off looping.
You may pause and resume playback. Saying "STOP" or "CANCEL" will pause a song that is currently playing.
You can resume a paused selection at any time by saying "Alexa, Resume".
You can say "Next" and "Previous" to skip forward or backward when playing a playlist.
For help with this skill, you can say "Alexa, ask country stranger for help", "Alexa, ask country stranger for playlist help", or say "Alexa, ask country stranger to tell me about the catalog.".
