DOGOnews connects kids to the world around them through current events and news. The DOGOnews skill for Alexa is fun and interactive way where news comes to life with narration, music and comments to help kids concentrate and develop listening skills.
For parents who are subscribers of DOGOnews Homeschool, the skill offers quizzes to test reading comprehension. Homeschoolers can discover articles on their own or with their learning pod, while minimizing screen-time. In order to access quizzes, parents must set up account-linking between their Amazon account and a DOGOnews parent account.
Once you enable the skill, just say, "Alexa, open DOGOnews" to get started!
Things you can say “Current Events” – to hear the latest articles “Browse Topics” – to hear science, social studies or articles about the world “Search” – to search by topic or keyword (i.e. search for “SpaceX” articles) “Take a Quiz” – to take a quiz after listening to an article
Listening to articles Alexa will begin each reading by saying how long it is in minutes, and how many sections it will be read in. At the end of each section you can say "continue", "repeat this section", or "start over". At the end of the reading you can say "take a quiz", "listen to the next story", or "start over".
