These Triads and mini-essays were inspired by Courage to Change, a book of daily readings for the spouses, family, and friends of alcoholics. There's a lot of wisdom in Courage to Change, but there is also an obstacle for Pagans in that the book is riddled with Christian culture. Many of us face enough challenges in our lives. Sometimes the added challenge of dealing with that culture discourages us; after all, we've often dealt with it before and often enough it was the toxic side of that culture that we endured.
However, it doesn't have to be that hard; there are more Pagan-friendly resources available to us. Pagan authors such as Deirdre Hebert (The Pagan in Recovery) have written Pagan-friendly approaches based upon the 12-Steps, and more palatable to the modern pagan community. Look hard enough and you'll find other Pagan resources as well.
None of this is easy. I don't like having to constantly deal with the embedded Christianity of the recovery groups, but I do so to support my sons and I do so to support myself. You can do so as well. I hope these Triads will help.
Wisdom is where we find it:
In writing on the sky
In flames curling upwards
In a newborns' open eye
Using Alexa to Listen:
You can pause and play by saying "Alexa, pause" and "Alexa, resume." Just say "Alexa, stop" when you're done for the day. When listening to podcasts you can say "Alexa, shuffle" to shuffle the playing order, or "Alexa, loop" to loop the current episode. You can also ask for previous and next episodes by saying "Alexa, previous" and "Alexa, next". This skill was created using a Skill Blueprint.
