With the IoTMATEv2b skill from IoTMATE and Alexa, you can now interact with your IoTMATE v2b devices by voice. What's more, you can experience rich home automation experience without the need for any app other than Amazon Alexa. With IoTMATE v2b Node, now all you need to control your devices connected is talk to Alexa.
To get started, select the 'Enable Skill' button in the Alexa App to link your Amazon account and discover your devices. IoTMATE uses Login with Amazon for account linking, and thus ensures your information never goes to any third party server. Find more information about connecting smart home devices at Connect a Smart Home Device to Alexa (http://tinyurl.com/alexa-smart-home).
When using the skill, you need established names for your devices. There are two ways to define these names:
Use the names you previously set up. They are shown in the Alexa app and can be changed. Create an Alexa group, like Bedroom or Downstairs, and add the device to the group. More information is available at Create a Smart Home Device Group (http://tinyurl.com/alexa-smart-home-groups) Once you know the name or group name for your devices, you can say the following:
"Alexa, turn on Bedroom fan." "Alexa, turn off kitchen light."
