Developed by a musician for musicians: this is the perfect skill for musicians who want to jam along or practice to backing tracks! Featuring select tracks from a diverse array of genres, users can mute or turn off specific instruments in order to play along and become part of the band themselves.
Get Started:
Kick things off by saying, "Alexa, open Joy Jam and show me a list of songs." If you're in the mood for a blues track, simply say, "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to play Midnight Blues." If you are a guitar player and do not need to hear the existing guitar track, simply tell Alexa to "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to turn off guitar." The track will then play bass and drums so that you can jam along on your own guitar. You can then mute a subsequent instrument, or tell Alexa something like "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to isolate drums."
Available features:
Songs List. Jam along to professionally recorded tracks in different musical moods and tastes. Example: "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to show me a list of songs."
Play by Genre. Example: "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to play a rock song" or "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to play a country song." Other genres available include country, jazz, rhythm & blues, metal, garage rock, indie rock, reggaeton and more.
Custom Tracks. You can now play along with your own custom tracks AND also share with friends! Go to the website https://joyjam.me to create your custom song featuring up to 4 distinct tracks. After creating your song here, you can use your ID number to play the song. For example: "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to play custom track number 114"
Play by Musical Key. Example: "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to play a song in the key of E." or "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to play a song in the key of D."
Mute tracks. Once a song is playing, say something like "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to turn off guitar" or "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to mute drums."
Isolate tracks. Once a song is playing, say something like "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to isolate drums" to only hear the drums part.
Play by Track Name or Number. Example: "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to play Miami Mood." or "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to play track three."
Reset Track: say "Alexa, tell Joy Jam to reset the track" to unmute all instruments.
For devices with visual displays, Joy Jam will show you the current track name and the musical key for reference.
