Excellent Radio KYXZ is a project of United Way of San Luis Obispo County, California. Originally a vision of Charlie Goodman, one of the two primary proponents of encouraging the FCC to license Low Power Community Radio in the U.S. KYXZ is located in Grover Beach, just a few blocks from the ocean and the Oceano Dunes (site of the historic Dunite community). The programming is a mix of live DJ shows and a playlist curated by legendary musicologist, David Ciaffardini.
