In this game, you have to find the result of operations in one of the game modes and levels available.
Currently, there are three types of games:
- CLASSIC, in which you have to find the result of a given operation;
- MYSTERY NUMBER, in which you have to find what the mystery number is for a given calculation;
- FINGER COUNTING, in which the player resolves the calculation by using his/her fingers.
In the "Classic" and "Mystery Number" modes, the operations include additions, subtractions, multiplications, and divisions,
The "Finger Counting" game only consists of additions and subtractions.
Certain types of games offer three levels of difficulty available for free, in which operations will be randomly generated with numbers up to:
- Additions, Subtractions & Divisions: 50 (easy), 1,000 (intermediate) and 10,000 (hard)
- Multiplications: 10 (easy), 50 (intermediate) and 100 (hard)
In addition to those, there is also a premium level accessible for a one-off charge, called the CUSTOM MODE, that lets you adapt the game to your very own abilities and needs, by allowing you to:
- choose what type of operations you want to play with, which can be any combination of additions, subtractions, multiplications and/or divisions;
- select the minimum and maximum numbers (must be whole and positive) for each of the selected type of operations, to have Alexa generate calculations using numbers within each of the ranges defined. NOTE: for divisions, you only have to choose the maximum number.
This provides a much better learning experience, suited for all users. For instance, a beginner may only want to practice additions and subtractions between 0 and 10, while a maths genius may want to focus only on multiplications with five digits numbers!
NOTE: the custom mode is only available for the Classic and Mystery Number games.
During the game, the following commands are available:
- "Help", to get more information about the 'Types of game', 'Commands', 'Levels', and other categories;
- "Repeat", to hear the current calculation again;
- "Wait", to get 30 seconds to think (NB: to interact with the game before the end of the 30 seconds, say your device's wake word followed by the result or any other command);
- "What's my score", to get your current percentage of correct answers (only in Classic and Mystery Number modes);
- "Skip", to skip the current calculation and get a new one;
- "Change Level", to select another level of difficulty (only in Classic and Mystery Number modes);
- "Menu", to go back to the menu and switch to another game mode.
In addition to the above, the Custom Mode also comes with additional commands to:
- hear the current settings and if needed, reconfigure all the types of operations and associated numbers used in the game;
- select or change the minimum and maximum numbers used for a specific type of operations;
- stop Alexa from generating any more additions, subtractions, multiplications, or divisions.
