Important Note: This smart home skill will only work for New Zealand and Australia users of the Mitsubishi Electric Wi-Fi Control Interface and Service.
With the Melview Wi-Fi Control and Alexa, you can now interact with your Melview Air Conditioner / Heat Pump by voice.
To get started, Please ensure your Melview Wi-Fi Control app is installed and working, then select the 'Enable Skill' button in the Alexa App to link your Wi-Fi Control account and discover your devices. Find more information about connecting smart home devices at Connect a Smart Home Device to Alexa (https://tinyurl.com/alexa-smart-home).
Before using this skill, please ensure your heat pump / air conditioner has been named so it can be easily found and interacted with.
There are two ways to name your heat pump / air conditioner in Alexa: 1. Use the name you previously set up in the Wi-Fi control app. This name can be found at the top of the Wi-Fi Control App [Control unit] screen if you have one unit, or under [View all units] screen if you have multiple units connected. 2. Create an Alexa group, like Bedroom or Lounge, and add the heat pump / air conditioner device to the group.
More information is available at Create a Smart Home Device Group (https://tinyurl.com/alexa-smart-home-groups)
Once you know the name or group name for your devices, you can say the following (For example, if you have heat pump installed in your Lounge named 'Lounge'):
"Alexa, turn on the Lounge " "Alexa, turn off the Lounge" "Alexa, set the Lounge to 24 degrees" "Alexa, set the Lounge to heat" "Alexa, set the Lounge to cool" "Alexa, make the Lounge warmer" "Alexa, make the Lounge cooler" "Alexa, what is the temperature in the Lounge" "Alexa, what is the lounge set to?" - will return unit's mode and set temperature "Alexa, what is the temperature in the lounge?" - will return room temperature
