With the Microchip IoT skill and Alexa, you can now interact with your IoT boards from (avr-iot.com) and (pic-iot.com) by voice. To get started, select the 'Enable Skill' button in the Alexa App to link your skill with a Microchip IoT Voice account and discover your devices. When using the skill, you need established names for your devices. There are two ways to define these names:
Use the names you previously set up. They are shown in the (https://microchiptech.github.io/mchpiotvoice/) and can be changed
Create an Alexa group, like Bedroom or Downstairs, and add the device to the group. More information is available at Create a Smart Home Device Group (http://tinyurl.com/alexa-smart-home-groups)
Once you know the name or group name for your devices, you can say the following:
"Alexa, turn on Kitchen Light." "Alexa, turn off Kitchen Light."
