Once you’ve connected your Gateway to your motorized Z-Wave shades, use the Motorized Shade Control skill to operate your motorized shades with Amazon's Alexa voice assistant.
You can ask Alexa to raise or lower your shades in a certain room, using the "turn on" and "turn off" commands, or set them to a specified level.
Getting Started: 1. Tap on “ENABLE TO USE” to install the Motorized Shade Control skill. 2. You will be prompted to sign in to your Gateway app account.
3. Next, select the shades you'd like to be controllable through Alexa. You can even enter custom names for each device (e.g. Living room shade, bedroom shade, etc.). a. Note: On the 'Discover Your Devices' screen, be sure to avoid using any special characters such as underscore _ when setting a device name. 4. Finally, tap on “done”, and then tap on “DISCOVER DEVICES,” —or, alternatively, simply ask Alexa to “Discover Devices”, which can take up to 20 seconds.
