Night Out streamlines the process of finding movies, buying tickets, finding restaurants near the theater, reserving table, and getting a ride, all in the same conversation. It allows you to interact with 3rd parties (OpenTable, Atom Tickets, and Uber) in the context of your goal, so you don’t have to repeat yourself from skill to skill to skill. If you start with movies, it looks for theaters near you, and when you buy tickets, it looks for restaurants near the theaters. If you start with restaurants, it looks for restaurants near you, and when you book a table, it looks for movies in theaters near the restaurant. Though the experience is in beta, we think you’ll like the ease and convenience.
Note: It works with "Follow-up" mode turned on, which means you don't have to keep repeating "Alexa" at the start of each turn. The mic stays on till you say "Stop".
Night Out skill uses Atom Tickets to buy movie tickets using your Amazon Pay information, OpenTable to make reservations, and your Uber linked account to get a ride to either the theater or the restaurant. To process your requests, Atom Tickets, OpenTable, and Uber need permission to access the following:
Access Device Street Address: Atom Tickets and Uber (to find theaters, and to pick you up) Access Full Name: OpenTable (to make a reservation in your name) Access Email Address: OpenTable (to send reservation details) and Atom Tickets (to send your tickets) Access Mobile Number: OpenTable (required to make a reservation) Use Amazon Pay: Atom Tickets (to pay for your tickets)
Note : To help protect against unwanted ordering, you can enable a four-digit voice code under "Settings" in the Alexa app.
Granting these permissions in the Night Out skill grants permission for third parties involved in serving your request (movie tickets - Atom Tickets, restaurant reservations - OpenTable, or ride - Uber) to access the information as applicable. Providing Amazon Pay permission will enable you to make payments to Atom Tickets. Amazon Pay will share your name, email and addresses, but not your financial information, with Atom Tickets.
Permission settings for Night Out skill do not affect the permission settings for the Atom Tickets, Uber, and OpenTable skills. Revoking permissions for those skills will not revoke permissions granted to those 3rd parties for this skill.
