Nobody Dances Here first premiered live on a freezing February day in Chicago in 2009. Barack Obama had just been inaugurated and the hottest topics were Chris Brown and Balloon Boy. Housed in an underused audio studio at the School of the Art Institute Chicago, NDH (a blog and podcast about art and culture) quickly became one of Chicago’s game-changing podcasts, inviting local celebrities and artists to chat about their passions without the pressure of sounding perfect. Listeners could call in to the studio while hosts went back and forth regarding the show’s topics. All while a DJ physically spun on the ones and twos in the background, a party vibe was created to enhance the conversation.
