The NGEMC Alexa skill is the a new and convenient way to engage our members. This next level solution allows our members to interact with North Georgia Electric conversationally, allowing a whole new level of speed and convenience!
To get started, simply enable the North Georgia Electric skill and link your account using your member number and ID.
Once you’ve enabled the skill, give it a try!
You can ask questions directly to the skill all in one fluid sentence by saying “Alexa ask North Georgia Electric…” and then one of the phrases below.
Or you can “invoke” the skill first, by saying “Alexa, North Georgia Electric”. Then you can directly speak the phrases below.
For example, “Alexa, ask North Georgia Electric what’s my balance?” Or “Alexa, North Georgia Electric” then “Alexa, what’s my balance?”
You can continue to ask Alexa questions until the skill exits, either by you saying “Alexa, exit” or if the skill times out due to silence.
For bill information try: - “What’s my balance?” - “What was my last payment?” - “How can I make a payment?”
For information about the utility: - “Information about North Georgia Electric.” - “Where can I pay my bill?” - “Kiosk locations.” - “How to report an outage?” - “How to connect a service?” - “I’d like to make an arrangement.”
For information about electricity savings: - “Energy saving tips.”
Most phrases can be spoken in many different ways, so don’t worry about being exact.
For example, beyond “what’s my balance”, things like “how much do I owe”, “what’s my bill” or even simply “balance” will work!
Don’t be afraid to experiment and have fun. You won’t hurt it.
