Do you have beautiful plants but you just can't seem to keep alive? How would you like to give the upkeep responsibility to someone, or something, else… someone who doesn't talk back!? Well, try the new Planter Waterer! The Planter Waterer can determine if your plant needs water or has an adequate amount of water, so it takes the responsibility off of your plate entirely and handles it for you! Now you won't have to think twice about if you watered your plants in enough time and your plants will stay beautiful so you can enjoy them for longer.
To use this skill you can turn the water on and off, you can ask for the soil moisture level, you can turn on the water for X number of seconds, and you can turn on and off the automatic waterer function as follows:
ask planter waterer what is the soil moisture level ask planter waterer turn on water ask planter waterer turn off water ask planter waterer for 3 seconds have water on ask planter waterer turn on auto water ask planter waterer turn off auto water
This skill uses a free data channel houses data from an IoT device at https://thingspeak.com/channels/431871 to access data points and manipulate them. Thingspeak can be easily setup and learned via http://community.thingspeak.com/tutorials/ To properly have water actually turn on, you will need to have a IoT device, like an Ardunio board configured to read and write to the above channel. http://community.thingspeak.com/tutorials/ has the necessary information for setting up your Ardunio!
