PowerView® Automation merges seamlessly with Alexa to bring enhanced operation of popular Hunter Douglas window coverings to your connected lifestyle.
PowerView works with Alexa to allow you to voice-activate individual shades, Rooms of shades, or specific PowerView Scenes created in the PowerView® App.
Simply speak “Alexa" followed by the activation words "Activate", "Open", or "Close", and then the shade name, Room, or PowerView® Scene name.
Some example phrases are:
Individual Shade Command Examples "Alexa, Open Bedroom Left." “Alexa, Close Kitchen Right shade to 50 percent.” “Alexa, Open Kitchen Right tilt to 50 percent.”
Room Command Examples "Alexa, Close Living Room."
Scene Command Examples "Alexa, Activate I'm Leaving." “Alexa, Run Movie Night.”
Below are some tips for success when voice-activating PowerView Automation using the PowerView Automation skill for Alexa:
- Make sure Shade names, Rooms, and Scene names are unique - Make your Shade names, Rooms, and Scene names easy to pronounce - Use Routines to combine multiple shades, Rooms of shades, or specific PowerView Scenes with other devices for whole-home automation
In order to use the PowerView Automation skill for Alexa to voice-activate your PowerView shades, you'll need the following:
Account Requirements: PowerView® Account with a registered PowerView Hub (account setup and hub registration in the PowerView app). This ensures seamless account linking with Alexa.
