With the Roome skill and Alexa,you can now interact with your Roome lights,rooms,and scenes by voice To get started,select the "Enable Skill" button in alexa App to link your Roome account and say "Alexa,discover devices". Note:Basic lighting functionality(on/off/dimming/color) is available without the Smarthome skill and compatible with Roome Bluetooth Bridge V1
Rooms: To control several lights in same room,simply tell Alexa to turn on <room name>. - "Alexa, turn on Bedroom" - "Alexa,brighten Kitchen to 50%"
There are two ways to define rooms. - Use the name(s) you set alreay in the Roome app - these are show in Roome app 'Room' tab,OR - Create an Alexa group add the devices to group in Alexa App More information is available at http://tinyurl.com/alexa-smart-home-groups
Light Controls: - You can turn device on/off,for example:"Alexa,turn on my Bedroom lights", or "Alexa,turn off the Kitchen lights" - You can change the brightness,for example:"Alexa,brighten Dining Room to 50%",or "Alexa,dim the Living Room lights"
Color Control: - You can control shades of white on your Roome white ambiance lights,from cool energising daylight to relaxing warm white light.say: - "Alexa ,set the kitchen light to cool white" - "Alexa,make the living room warmer"
Here's a step by step guide: (1). download our "Roome" app in Google Play or the iOS App store (2).Register a new account in "Roome" app(or login in if you'r already registered). (3).Connect the Roome smart devices and use the "Roome" app to configure them. (4).IMPORTANT : you can rename your devices in the Roome app ,and Alexa will refer to them by the same name . So if you rename a smart bulb to "Living Room" or give it a nickname like "Blossom",then Alexa will use that same name or nickname later on. (5).If your Echo device is not configured yet,download the Amazon "Alexa" app from Amazon Appstore,Google Play or the iOS App Store and follow the instructions given by the app. (6).Search the Alexa Skills directory for "Roome" and select it,the skill's detail card will open. (7).Click "Enable skill" and you'll be navigated to a login page (8).Input your account username and password,you'll be redirected the success page (9).Now the setup is finished.You can interact with the skill using the commands described above.'
Note: When connecting the smart surge protector,Alexa will only recognize devices after you have renamed each device in Roome app from "Socket#" to a custom name
