You control a village of 10 men with access to a mine, a forest, and a quarry. Each of these has resources you can gather!
In the initial phase of this game, you must allocate all 10 villagers one assignment at a time. For example, say: 'send 10 mine to the mine.' You could also say 'send 5 men to the mine,' wait for the prompt, and then say 'send 5 men to the woods.'
After the initial phase, you must assign specific numbers and units new jobs. Since it's always easy to forget specific names, this skill allows much variation. For example, an equivalent of 'send 5 woodcutters to the quarry' could be 'make 5 lumberjacks stone miners.'
Each woodcutter, stone miner, and metal miner will gather resources each turn automatically. If a smith has been allocated, you can say 'smith wooden/bronze/iron weapons,' assuming you have enough of these materials. To craft armor, 'smith bronze/iron armor.'
To check resources, units, or everything, just say for example, 'How much wood do I have?' You can also say, 'how many scouts do I have?' or 'What do I have?'
Scouts spy on the enemy (once you discover the enemy), and report back each time something changes.
Teamwork helps at every station besides smithing. Smiths work well on their own!
Building: you can currently build wooden walls, stone walls (which are stronger than wooden walls), and battering rams. All units will temporarily assemble to create these structures.
Soldiers stand guard until you say 'attack.' This means they will prevent the enemy from surprising you! Soldiers on guard will give you just enough time to arm your entire village in the case of an invasion.
Eventually, attacking will work for all possible cases. At the moment, you can attack the enemy if they have no walls. Be quick! To be competitive, just make one or more scouts to report on what the enemy has and try to race them to fortification! Build some wooden or stone walls.
Have fun gathering, building, crafting, and discovering what your villagers come across!
