With the ThinkEco smartAC skill and Alexa, you can now interact with your modlet and thermostat by voice. To get started, select the 'Enable Skill' button in the Alexa App to link your MyModlet account and discover your devices. Find more information about connecting smart home devices at Connect a Smart Home Device to Alexa (http://tinyurl.com/alexa-smart-home).
When using the skill, you need established names for your devices. There are two ways to define these names:
1) Use the names you previously set up. They are shown in MyModlet.com and the smartAC Go app and can be changed.
2) Create an Alexa group, like Bedroom or Downstairs, and add the device to the group. More information is available at Create a Smart Home Device Group (http://tinyurl.com/alexa-smart-home-groups)
Once you know the name for your device, you can say the following:
"Alexa, turn on the Bedroom AC." "Alexa, turn off my Living Room." "Alexa, what is the temperature in the Kitchen?"
"Alexa, set Bedroom temperature to 75 degrees." "Alexa, set the Living Room temperature to 78."
"Alexa, increase my Bedroom temperature by 3 degrees." "Alexa, decrease the Living Room by 2 please."
"Alexa, increase the Bedroom temperature." (Increases set thermostat temperature by 2 degrees)
"Alexa, decrease Living Room temperature. (Decreases set thermostat temperature by 2 degrees)
"Alexa, turn up my Bedroom temperature." (Increases set thermostat temperature by 2 degrees)
"Alexa, turn down the Living Room temperature." (Decreases set thermostat temperature by 2 degrees)
"Alexa, make my Bedroom warmer." (Increases set thermostat temperature by 2 degrees)
"Alexa, make the Living Room cooler." (Decreases set thermostat temperature by 2 degrees)
Naming tips and tricks to get the most out of Alexa: - Avoid starting device names with "the" or "my". - If a device name ends with "AC" it can be omitted in commands - If you change the name of your device after you have enabled the skill, you may need to forget and re-discover your devices for changes to take affect in Alexa.
“Alexa, what is the temperature in the Living Room?”
