Snooker Tracker tells you about the latest snooker matches, using the World Snooker api at api.snooker.org.
Now in version 5, again rebuilt from the ground up for speed and stability (though with no major new features), you can make the following requests:
- "Alexa, open Snooker Tracker"/"ask Snooker Tracker for the latest" - provides the scores of matches in progress right now. If there is no event in progress, you'll hear when the next event is coming up
- "Alexa, ask Snooker Tracker for results / what did I miss" - reads you the most recent five results from the current event, then asks if you'd like to hear more
- "Alexa, ask Snooker Tracker for upcoming matches / what's next" - this tells you the scheduled start times of upcoming matches in the current event (note for international users - times are all in GMT/BST). Handy when you want to hear when your favourite player is scheduled to play.
- "Alexa, ask Snooker Tracker for the schedule/calendar/diary" - lists upcoming events in the season.
- "Alexa, ask Snooker Tracker for event information" - gives you some details of the current event, e.g. the venue and current title holder
- "Alexa, ask Snooker Tracker for the rankings" - lists the top 16 players by money rankings in order
- "Yes/No" - when there are more than 5 results/upcoming matches, you can hear more when prompted with "do you want to hear more results/upcoming matches?"
- "Stop" or "Cancel" - to exit Snooker Tracker
- "Alexa, ask Snooker Tracker for help" - gives you a spoken form of these instructions
- "Alexa, ask Snooker Tracker to turn on caching/turn off caching" - by default, Snooker Tracker will store results and upcoming matches for 10 minutes before refreshing them. This keeps things nice and quick when you're using Snooker Tracker, especially if you're in and out of the Skill and making multiple requests. However, if you want to turn off the 10 minute cache, just say "turn off caching". Retrieval of results and upcoming matches will take longer, but you can be assured that every result is the latest result available from api.snooker.org. (No promises that this is always bang up to date, but it's usually very close!)
