There are two different Sony’s TV skills and you must choose one skill depending on your TV.
This skill is compatible with “TV Control with Smart Speakers” application on Sony’s TV. Please go to Home screen of your Sony’s TV and see if the application is available on the screen. If you don’t see the application but see “TV Control Setup with Amazon Alexa” application instead, the TV is compatible with “Sony’s TV – Basic” skill. In that case, go to “Sony’s TV – Basic” skill and find more details for setup.
Before enabling this skill, start setup by launching the “TV Control with Smart Speakers” app on the Home screen of your TV. Then, follow the directions.

GETTING STARTED...
1. Launch the “TV Control with Smart Speakers”* application from the Home screen of your Sony's TV. 2. Follow the directions to create a Sony account. 3. After sign-in completed, follow the directions to name your TV and select Amazon Alexa device. 4. When instruction screen is displayed, use your Alexa App on your phone to enable skill, link accounts, and discover your devices. 5. Return to your TV to complete setup.
THINGS TO REMEMBER...
1. MULTI-TV SUPPORT Control all your supported Sony's TVs* with Alexa. Set up each TV with the “TV Control with Smart Speakers” app on each TV, and pick the same Sony account on all your TVs.
2. TV NAME. Always tell Alexa which TV you want her to control. Pick a unique name for every TV you set up.
3. TROUBLESHOOTING Support page: http://www.sony.com/tvsupport If Alexa doesn't recognize your TV's name, say: "Alexa, discover my devices" or try running discovery in your Alexa app.
4. REQUIREMENTS To use the power on function, "Remote start" must be set to On in your TV's settings. Setting up your remote control to control your cable/satellite box is required to change channels and media controls (such as play, pause, etc.). To set it up, go to your TV’s [Settings] > [Watching TV] > [External inputs] > [Cable/Satellite box setup] and follow the directions.
NOTES... Your TV must be linked with your Alexa device via the "Manage In TV & Video" section of the skill's settings.
*If you do not see the “TV Control with Smart Speakers” app on your TV's home screen, your TV may not be compatible to this skill yet. You do not need to manually install this application. It automatically installs on supported TVs. Supported models: http://esupport.sony.com/info/1709/US/EN/
