Square Breathing is an established technique for promoting calm and easing anxiety and stress. When we become anxious, uptight or stressed our breathing quickens and becomes shallower. With this skill, Alexa takes you through the process of regaining control and counts with you as you breathe.
The term square breathing refers to the principle of Inhaling, Holding, Exhaling, Holding in equal measure and in so doing one can imagine four sides of a square as they do so. That visualization is not essential though. Most important is to just focus on your breathing.
