Since 1992, the California Smokers’ Helpline (1-800-NO-BUTTS) has provided free quit smoking services. The School of Medicine at UC San Diego operates the Helpline. The Helpline has shown in clinical trials that its approach can double a smoker’s chance of quitting for good.
