The New Year brings the opportunity for many new endeavors. For many followers of Christ, the flip of the calendar represents the launch of another Bible reading plan. There are a dizzying number of options out there for those wanting to saturate in the Scriptures in 2018.
However, there is a lot more to reading the Word than simply picking a plan. Perhaps you are like me and have started off many years with a well-devised system only to fall off a few months, weeks, or even days into the journey. While our daily intake of Scripture is important, there’s more to reading the Bible than simply picking a plan and checking a box.
We don’t come to the Word of God to simply mark another item off our list, but that’s often what our annual reading plans turn into. Have you ever experienced the guilt of missing a day? Or two? Or ten? Perhaps you’ve experienced the overwhelming sense of failure when you’ve given up on your plan…again. There has to be another way.
In 2018, we want to invite the Summit Crossing family to consider reading together this year with Community Bible Reading (CBR).
CBR was launched in 2006 and now has over 10,000 participants around the world reading the Bible together. Over the past year many members of our faith family have started the CBR journey and experienced the power of breaking our Bible reading free from the confines of an exclusively private discipline. Would you consider joining us in 2018?
