Welcome to Thirty-One! It's a fun card game that's like Blackjack. The goal is to get a hand worth more points than my hand. You'll always have three cards in your hand out of a classic fifty two card deck. Ace is worth eleven, face cards are worth ten, and the rest are worth their value. Your hand total is always the sum of the values of the cards with the same suit. If you have three different suits, it's the value of the highest value card. Be careful! If you have two cards with the same suit that are worth less than the third card, your hand is worth the sum of the two cards even though they are worth less points. To start a game, you can say 'start a new game'. To hear the cards you have in your hand, you can say, 'what's my hand' or 'tell me my hand'. When it is your turn, you have one of four options: to draw and discard the drawn card, to draw and swap a card from your hand with the drawn card, to swap out a card already on the pile, or to knock. To draw, you can say 'draw'. To swap out a card in your hand with what's on the discard pile, you can say things like 'discard the jack of hearts'. The card you choose to discard must be in your hand. Finally, you can knock to compare hand scores at any point in the game by saying 'knock'. I'll do some math and we can compare who has the better hand. The most points possible is Thirty One, hence the game! Now, let's play!
