Many knock-knock jokes use puns, or words that sound alike to mislead the listener in the first half of the joke. > "Knock Knock" > "Who's there?" > "It's Abby" > "Abby who?" > "Abby birthday to you!"
"It's Abby" introduces a person at the door. In the punchline, the joke substitutes "Abby" for the word "Happy" in "Happy Birthday to you!" This plays on the closeness of 'b' and 'p' in 'Abby'.
To increase understanding, this skill pronounces word substitutions at a slower rate that's almost unnoticeable! Slowing down words like 'Abby' allows for more time to connect the first and second half of the joke.
