Easily control your VIZIO SmartCast™ TV with just your voice! Ask Alexa to turn the TV on/off, find your favorite movies and TV shows, adjust the volume, and more.
REQUIRED TV SETUP!
Before installing this skill, you must enable Alexa on your TV by following the steps below.
1. Press the VIZIO (the "V" button) button on your remote to launch the SmartCast Home screen.
2. Select Extras from the top menu bar.
3. Select "Amazon Alexa" from the list. Then follow the steps on your TV.

This skill is supported on all 2017 through 2019 SmartCast displays/TV and 2016 4K Ultra HD SmartCast home theater displays.
EASIER VOICE CONTROL
You no longer need to use the TV’s name every time you speak to Alexa. Now, ONLY the first voice command requires you to say your TV name. Alexa will then assume any of the next few following commands will be directed to the same device for a period of time.
Here’s an example of what that might sound like…
You say, "Alexa, turn on my Living Room TV"
Alexa says, "OK" and Living Room TV powers ON
You say, "Alexa, turn down the volume."
Alexa says, "OK" and the Living Room TV volume is lowered.
You say, "Alexa, switch input to HDMI 1"
Alexa says, "OK" and switches the input on your Living Room TV.
ENABLE QUICK START MODE*
To power on your TV using a voice command, Quick Start mode must be enabled in your TV settings. Using your remote, press the MENU key and select System. Scroll down to Power Mode and press the Right Arrow to enable Quick Start Mode.
TROUBLESHOOTING
- If Alexa doesn't recognize your TV’s name, say: "Alexa, discover my devices" or try running discovery in your Alexa app.

* Power Mode in TV Settings must be set to Quick Start Mode to power on using voice commands. Please note that by changing this setting the energy consumption required to operate display will change.
