Fitness in the 21st century isn't just about mobility or a beautiful physique. We believe that fitness means both mental and physical development.
You will be led through a series of guided physical meditations. Each mediation will cover a specific physical function - hamstring flexibility, how to squat, shoulder mobility, and relief from lower back pain. Rather than simply trying to “correct” function, this curious exploration of your current physical patterns and sensations will speed up your rate of learning and change. As a result, in addition to specific concrete outcomes, you will discover increase mobility with less effort, and find new ways to move without pain.
You will be guided through physical meditations which release chronic tensions in the body. These techniques enable students to learn more rapidly by confronting self-judgement, proceeding with curiosity, and making the seemingly impossible, possible - or even easy.
Here are some benefits you can expect: Ability to squat, stretch, and move Deeper access to the body through the release of tension Increased mobility More physical awareness Reduction of lower back pain
Some physical abilities you’ll achieve:
Hamstring flexibility How to squat Shoulder mobility Relief from lower back pain Through a series of guided exercises, you will learn a framework for behavior design, based on the groundbreaking research of Stanford professor BJ Fogg, PhD. Discover how to anchor new habits to existing behaviors to make sure they last. When you are able to change your behaviors, you’ll find increased personal agency.
Using a modern process of Socratic questioning, you will learn a framework that will allow you to ask better questions. In a world where most questions are actually judgements (i.e. why did you do that!) and you are your own harshest critic, loving exploration of your true motivations will reveal new understandings - and the rapid change that is possible as a result.
It is well understood that athletes may have a high level of endurance and strength but lack emotional resilience at a critical moment and therefore be unable to perform. Similarly, we recognize the importance of movement to further any learning process. As a community, we have been circling around the idea of Peak Performance for years. We believe movement is a critical factor in learning and performance.
