The United States was founded on a simple yet ambitious ideal: that we, the people, would choose representatives who would run our government, and if we didn't like the country's direction, we could vote to change it. It isn't perfect, and sometimes it's messy, but even so on a regular basis we go to the polls, knowing that we as average citizens can make a difference.
This skill is very simple: add it to your flash briefing, and Alexa will tell you how many days there are until the next Federal election. Once ia week it will remind you what offices will be decided in the next election, and as the date gets closer, it will make other reminders and suggestions.
Note: While this skill can be used at any time of the day,it is intended for use in the morning. The data is only updated once daily at 0800 GMT, so it is possible that between the hours of 10:00 PM (Alaska, Hawaii) and 4:00 AM (Eastern US), depending on your location and whether daylight time is in effect, the skill may be off by one day. Without collecting personal information and implementing a much more complicated algorithm, that's a minor inconvenience we have to endure for now.
